OVENWARE
Keep in mind that pottery does not like sudden temperature changes, therefore, the pottery should be at room temperature when placed into the oven. Do not pre-heat the oven. The pottery needs to heat up with the oven. Spread the food evenly throughout the pot, as in a casserole. This ensures an even heat, and keeps the pot in balance as the oven temperature rises. The same applies for cooking in a microwave.
When removing pottery from a hot oven, try to place it onto a room temperature surface such as a wood trivet, or wood cutting board.
