Our platters have an organic feel to them, each with their own unique shape.
They come in various shapes and sizes for all sorts of serving options. Sheryl makes them by throwing a thick disk on the potters wheel rather than rolling out a slab. Then she alters the disk, stretching it out into different shapes before turning up the edges. At this point she may also add handles or stamp the surface adding visual elements of spirals, fish, or other textures.
We try to keep the sides deep enough to contain juices when being used for serving a main coarse or to keep crackers and veggies in place when loaded up with appetizers.
